Abstract

A study was carried out whose objective was to characterize the use of medicinal plants in the Los Cágüices district in the municipality of San Pablo (Bolívar) during semester B of 2018. The information was obtained through the application of 70 interviews, oriented towards a descriptive non-experimental research design. The data obtained was analyzed, register that 64% of the people obtain the plants given by neighbors, 89% cultivate them and 83% use them. With reference species found there are a total of 30 families and 52 species, the most dominant family being the Lamiaceae with 12 species (23%); Rutaceae and Fabaceae with 4 species (8%) and Anacardiaceae with 3 species (6%). The most acquired it from their parents, of the plant used parts of the plant are the leaves (63%). The most used preparation method was infusion (45%). Aloe vera is the plant most used to treat (38) health problems and the flu is the disease most treated with (28) different species and 50% of the population uses medicinal plants frequently.
