Efecto del uso de la escama de pescado en la alimentación de codornices sobre la calidad del huevo
Abstract
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of using fish scale of cachama (Piaractus brachypomus) and tilapia (Oreochromis sp) as a source of dietary calcium on the quality quail egg. Were used 360 eggs from assay with 200 japanese quail of forty-five days of age, distributed in a completely randomized design with four treatments, five replicates and ten birds per replicate. The
treatments consisted of substitution levels of calcium carbonate by solid material fish scale to 0, 10, 20 and 30% of the basal diet. The inclusion to 20% fish scale increase (p=0.04) the transverse diameter (26,0 mm) and egg weight 11,47 g) the other egg quality characteristics were not influenced (p>0,05). In conclusion, in quail in laying may use up to 20% solid material fish scale as an alternative source of calcium without affecting the parameters of internal and external quality of the egg.
